A delegation from Chanrai Nigeria Limited, led by Chandan Ghosh and Swadeep Sundaray, visited the Abuja headquarters of Africenergy and Infrastructure Limited for technical discussions on collaboration in the development of gas infrastructure across Nigeria.
The talks centred on opportunities for the two companies to work together to widen the deployment of compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) solutions, drawing on Chanrai’s compression technology and Africenergy’s on going gas projects across Nigeria. Discussions covered technical requirements, project structuring, and the pathways through which a partnership could contribute to closing Nigeria’s gas infrastructure gap and deepening the use of natural gas in industry and transport.
Chanrai Nigeria Limited, a member of the globally diversified Kewalram Chanrai Group, recently entered Nigeria’s gas distribution space with high-capacity CNG and LNG compression technologies. The company has positioned its solutions to support the Federal Government’s Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative and the wider shift towards cleaner and more affordable energy.
Africenergy and Infrastructure Limited provides engineering and infrastructure development services across the energy value chain. Both parties observed that the proposed collaboration is consistent with the mandate of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, whose priorities include attracting investment into gas infrastructure, deepening domestic gas utilisation, and advancing the objectives of the Decade of Gas.
Speaking during the visit, Engr. Edet Asuquo of Africenergy and Infrastructure Limited, said the company welcomed the engagement and saw clear scope for a partnership that would deliver practical results. “Nigeria’s gas potential will be realised through partnerships that bring together technology, capital, and local execution capacity. Our discussions with Chanrai reflect that ambition, and we look forward to taking them forward,” he said.
The meeting concluded with both organisations agreeing to continue their engagement and to define concrete areas of cooperation. The visit forms part of Africenergy and Infrastructure Limited’s ongoing efforts to build partnerships that support the growth of Nigeria’s gas sector and the delivery of critical energy infrastructure.
